Groundbreaking Of Southwest Papua Provincial Government Office, Vice President: Run For Development Targets

SORONG - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin reminded the Provincial Government of Southwest Papua (PBD) to pursue development targets to support governance and progress in its territory.

This was conveyed by the Vice President at the groundbreaking event or laying the first stone for the construction of the PBD Provincial office center at the Wombik Stadium, kilometer 16, Sorong City, Monday, July 17.

"All of these are capital for Southwest Papua Province to run to pursue development targets," said the Vice President when giving a speech.

The province of Southwest Papua is a new province in Papua which was formed through Law Number 29 of 2022, on December 8, 2022.

As the youngest province, Southwest Papua requires accelerated development. Mainly, in the procurement of facilities and infrastructure as well as priority project programs to support governance and progress in its territory.

In this regard, the Vice President also conveyed three important messages in order to encourage the acceleration of development in the Southwest Papua Province.

"I remind you again, what is present is not only the building, but what is more important is the government's presence to serve the people of Southwest Papua with integrity and responsibility," said the Vice President.

Second, the Vice President also asked the center of the Southwest Papua Provincial Government to provide the widest possible benefits to the community.

"Improving the economic empowerment of the community, implementing social, cultural and sports functions, becoming a center of literacy, strengthening harmony, and encouraging the emergence of talents of the younger generation of Southwest Papua, is part of development," he said.

Ma'ruf Amin also invited all stakeholders to be able to strengthen commitment and synergy in order to realize the short-term priority agendas in 2023 and 2024, as well as the long-term agenda in Southwest Papua which is in line with the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development in Papua in 2022 2041.

"I ask local government officials to continue to cooperate with traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, youth and women, as well as other strategic groups to achieve common goals," said the vice president.

The Vice President expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the formation of the youngest province in Papua. Because, through its formation, the people of Southwest Papua have a new house, namely the Southwest Papua Province.

"The new house in the form of provinces is identity, regional identity, as well as a strategy to bring services closer to the community, so that public services in the spirit of Special Autonomy are getting better," concluded the Vice President.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of Southwest Papua Muhammad Musa'ad, reported that the process of building government office facilities and infrastructure in Southwest Papua Province had gone through coordination and discussion with stakeholders.

He also hopes that through the moment of laying the first stone by the Vice President, the existence of this facility in the future can provide great benefits for the people of Southwest Papua.

"On behalf of the government and the people of Southwest Papua Province, thank you for the visit of the Vice President to Southwest Papua Province," he said.

Musa'ad admits this is an important and strategic momentum for the administration of government, development services and welfare for the people of Southwest Papua.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the CSR Super Micro Partnerships and People's Business Credit (KUR) was also handed over by the Head of the Bank Papua Sorong Branch to the recipient representatives.

The assistance provided was CSR Partnership of Rp. 15,000,000 which was handed over to Fince Osok and Super Micro KUR Assistance of Rp. 2,000,000 which was handed over to Ida Fiane Kolis.

In addition, assistance for the Old Age Protection Program (PAITUA) amounted to IDR 250,000 which will be given per month to Ance and Isak Sawisa; as well as the Youth Economic Development Program (PAPEDA) of IDR 3,000,000 which was symbolically handed over by the Vice President to Rudi Maniburi.

The series of events closed with the laying of the first stone by the Vice President accompanied by the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua, as a sign of the construction of a central infrastructure for the Southwest Papua Provincial Government.
