JAKARTA - Kaspersky's new findings reveal that phishing fraud is a threat that has been widely used by cybercriminals during 2022.

"Our experts found that throughout 2022 cybercriminals have returned to phishing. The latest figures for Indonesia and Southeast Asia prove that locally phishing is the most preferred infection technique for cybercriminals," said Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky in a statement.

In the Southeast Asia region itself, the cybersecurity company found 43,455,502 phishing efforts that were successfully blocked by Kaspersky's solution in the region during 2022.

Meanwhile, globally, Kaspersky's Anti-Phishing system managed to prevent as many as 507,851,735 attempts from users to follow the phishing link in the same period.

Of this number, Kaspersky found that the page that imitated the delivery service had the highest clique percentage on the phishing link, which was 27.38 percent.
