KPK Will Recall Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya In The Case Of Bribery For Railway Projects
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to recall the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi. This summons was because he was not present as a witness in the bribery case for the railway project today, Friday, July 14.
"The Minister of Transportation is right, yes, so he sent a letter. There was confirmation to the KPK investigating team that he could not attend because there were other activities. Of course, we from the KPK will reschedule the summons to the person concerned," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, July 14.
Ali has not specified the exact time of the summons. He only confirmed that Budi Karya's statement was needed to make clear the cases being investigated.
The KPK is also still closing the examination material meeting that investigators will ask. "Of course wait because when you are not present, of course we can't say what will be the material for questions or deepening by the KPK investigating team," he said.
Previously, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati stated that Budi could not fulfill the KPK's summons. The reason is that he is currently reviewing the projects being built.
Apart from Budi, investigators also summoned the Director General of Railways DJKA of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation M Risal Wasal and ASN at the Ministry of Transportation Maulana Yusuf as witnesses.
The statements of the three are needed to complete the investigation files of the suspect, the Head of the Class I Railway Engineering Center for the Central Java region (BTP Jabagteng) Putu Sumarjaya and his friends (dkk).

In this case, the KPK has named 10 suspects for alleged bribery related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation for Fiscal Year 2018-2022. Six recipients are the Director of Railway Infrastructure Harno Trimadi; Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Bernard Hasibuan; and Head of Central Java BTP Putu Sumarjaya.
Then there is also the PPK of the South Sulawesi Railway Management Center (BPKA) Achmad Affandi; PPK for Rail Infrastructure, Fadliansyah; and the West Java BTP (Jabagbar) PPK Syntheto Pirjani Hutabarat.
While the rest were bribe givers, namely the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung, Dion Renato Sugiarto; Director of PT Dwifarita Fajarkharisma, Muchamad Hikmat; Vice President of PT KA Management Properti, Parjono; and former Director of PT KA Management Properti, Yoseph Ibrahim.
In this case, the KPK suspects that six DJKA officials from the Ministry of Transportation received bribes worth Rp. 14.5 billion related to four railway projects in Indonesia.
The four projects suspected of being the bancakan are the Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso Double railway line construction project; a railway line construction project in Makassar, South Sulawesi; four railway construction projects and two supervision projects in Lampegan Cianjur, West Java; and a project to repair the Java-Sumatra Crossing.
