2 New Suspects Of Antraks Case In Gunungkidul, Vice President: Isolation Don't Let It Spread To Other Regions
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked the area with the finding of an anti-ax disease in livestock and humans to be isolated so that there is no spread to other areas.
"The Minister of Agriculture has taken steps. Therefore, we hope that the area is isolated so that it does not spread to other places," said the Vice President in a press statement, Friday, July 7, which was confiscated by Antara.
The Vice President's statement was in response to a report from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) stating that there were findings of two new suspects in the anti-extraction case in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) recently.
The report follows the findings of five cases of animal death at the local location from May to early June 2023.

Meanwhile, in DIY, two people have died from eating dead beef, resulting in the transmission of Bacillus Anthracis bacteria from livestock to humans.
The Vice President said that in addition to regional isolation, medical treatment of the victims must also be carried out immediately so that the community can return to health.
The vice president asked all relevant parties, including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health, and the DIY Provincial Government to make the best efforts so that the anti-extraction case in DIY can be resolved immediately.
"I also ask related agencies, the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Health, and others, we continue to block (determination), so that they don't spread anywhere, in various ways," he said.
