It Only Took Seven Hours, Threads Has Packed 10 Million People
JAKARTA - Threads, the latest social media application from Meta, which is an application under the auspices of Instagram, was officially launched globally on July 6 today.
Following Twitter's new policy limiting the number of daily tweets by Elon Musk, Threads seems to have attracted a lot of attention to people who feel disappointed with Twitter's new policy.
This is also evidenced by the large number of users who have downloaded and integrated their Instagram account into the Threads platform. The proof, after only 7 hours of being launched, this application has been downloaded by more than 10 million people.
This news was delivered directly by Meta Platform Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his Threads account. "10 million sign ups in seven hours," Zuck wrote today.
Prior to this global launch, Zuck had said that Threads' vision was to create friendly public options and spaces for conversation. He hopes to take the best from Instagram and create new experiences around text, ideas, and discuss what is on the minds of its users.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
From several sides, Threads has an advantage over Twitter. For example, messages posted to Threads will have a limit of 500 characters, while Twitter only has 280 characters. If users want to upload a long tweet, they have to pay for it through the Blue service.
What's more, Threads doesn't limit the number of users' daily tweets. This is certainly a special attraction for Threads, after many have complained about Twitter's reading limit policy.
If you've just wanted to try Threads, all you need to know is that Threads users need an Instagram account to log in. After registering, they can choose to follow the same account they follow on Instagram, if they have also joined the new app.
