BNN Destroys 122.9 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine Ahead Of HANI's Commemoration In Bali
DENPASAR - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) destroyed 122.9 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 501 grams of marijuana and 1.07 kilograms of heroin ahead of the peak commemoration of the International Anti Narcotics Day (HANI) on June 26, 2023 at the Tohpati Shooting Field, Denpasar.
Head of BNN Komjen Petrus Reinhard Golose said the evidence of narcotics destroyed came from eight narcotics cases involving 11 suspects.
Initially, the evidence confiscated by the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency consisted of shabu weighing 123.13 kilograms, marijuana weighing 107 grams and heroin 1.11 kilograms. However, a number of other evidences were stored for research purposes.
"From the confiscated narcotics evidence, BNN set aside 164.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, one gram of marijuana and 38 grams of heroin for the purposes of laboratory examination and scientific development," Golose said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 23.
The former Bali Police Chief said that from the results of the disclosure of the narcotics crime case, the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency managed to save 248,333 people from potential narcotics abuse.
The destruction of BNN confiscated goods was carried out following standard operating procedures based on the law to control fraud and also to be used as role models for the heads of provincial BNN and other stakeholders.
In addition, the destruction of drug evidence shows a commitment to the Indonesian people and the international community how Indonesia consistently fights drugs and follows up on programs from the United Nations as members of the United Nations Office for Drug and Crime Affairs (UNODC) and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

The eight narcotics crime cases revealed by the National Narcotics Agency occurred in the period May and June 2023.
Golose also warned the public not to ever use any type of narcotics so as not to languish in prisons.
He also advised drug users who are still active anywhere in Indonesia to immediately report to the local BNN for rehabilitation efforts before forced efforts are made through legal action.
