1 Unit Of Homes For The Stimulant Assistance Program In North Gorontalo Collapsed By Land Shiftation

GORONTALO - A housing unit in Mangrove Hamlet, Katialada Village, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province, collapsed allegedly due to a land shift.

"I suspect the cause is because the soil shifted. Considering that I had seen the house move to the west, then it tilted and eventually collapsed towards the front of the house," said the recipient of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in the North Gorontalo Regency, Ahmad Adam (39) in Gorontalo, Thursday 22 June.

He admitted that he was surprised by the condition, he was also very sad considering that the house was already in the roof installation stage.

Ahmad spoke out loud and revealed that he had built a house independently assisted by one neighbor. The previous house that was occupied had suffered severe damage due to weathered age, so it was worth repairing.

"For 13 years my wife and I have longed for this assistance. Our family is happy to receive assistance, but the disaster that occurs must be faced gracefully. I am still responsible for completing this house rehabilitation assistance," he said.

He admitted that he was lucky that the incident did not take any victims. "Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties. Even though he saw the house collapse directly, it was quite encouraging in the chest considering that the budget used had reached tens of millions of rupiah for my self-help, plus the assistance received in the hope of occupying the dream house," said Ahmad.

This condition has also been conveyed to Deputy Chairman of the DPRD Roni Imran. "He has come to review and provide moral support to our family," said Ahmad.

The BSPS Program Regency facilitator for the North Gorontalo Regency, Risnandar Husain, said that he had received reports of the incident from a companion.

"We will immediately convey it to the Housing Satker," he said.

He explained, for Katialada Village, there are 29 aid houses through the BSPS Program, including eight houses in Mangrove Hamlet, seven of which have been completed and one house belonging to Ahmad Adam is reportedly still under construction.

"After we reviewed, it turned out that he built a permanent house made of bricks, with a cement bank. Even though according to technical instructions, assistance was intended for the rehabilitation of board houses according to existing conditions," he said.

A 6x6 meter rehabilitation house uses second-class boards and blocks for walls and floors. Assistance of Rp. 17.5 million plus a repairman's fee of Rp. 2.5 million. The total reaches Rp. 20 million with a work duration of up to four months.

For the foundation part, it is made of reinforced cor poles using a mixture of cement. The distance between poles reaches 1.5 meters. However, it does not fall into the value of the aid.

His party immediately reported the condition to the Housing Satker for follow-up. However, Ahmad Adam as the recipient admitted that he would be responsible for this condition.

"Mr. Ahmad will be responsible and ask for the policy to continue his work by moving the location of the house to land, and hoping to use the remaining material that has not been used yet," said Risnandar.

The request, he continued, would be discussed with the leadership of the Housing Satker. Technically, said the man with Civil Engineering discipline, the location of the house in the mangrove swamp, the land is classified as unstable and easy to experience movement.

"This location is indeed not ideal for buildings with heavy volumes. This condition is one of the factors why these settlements are dominated by houses. So that they do not collapse easily or the buildings remain stable even though they are often flooded with sea water at high tides," he said.
