Acting Governor Calls The New River Embankment Can Solve Flood Issues In Hek, East Jakarta
JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said the presence of embankments in Kali Baru, Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati, could solve flood problems in the Hek area, East Jakarta.
"I'll check with the Natural Resources Service (Source of Water) regarding the embankment in Kali Baru," said Heru at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 21, quoted by ANTARA.
In addition, Heru also said that he had asked the DKI Jakarta SDA Office to also provide mobile pumps as temporary handling to overcome flood problems in the area.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has also increased reservoirs or reservoirs.
"We also have reservoirs and reservoirs that can function temporarily," said Heru.
Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government planned to normalize the New River in Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, to overcome flooding on Jalan Raya Bogor.
"This will be normalized. We are still waiting from the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA)," said East Jakarta Mayor M Anwar at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday.
The information, he said, was that the normalization had been budgeted for the construction of a sheet pile.
"Later the pile sheet will be elevated so that the water does not spill," said Anwar.

In addition, Anwar said, flood management was also carried out by building a water channel intersection on Jalan DI Panjaitan, East Jakarta, to break up the water discharge of Kali Baru so that it did not overflow onto the road.
The DKI SDA Service is still trying to deal with the area so that flooding does not occur again by strengthening the Kali Baru embankment.
"The permanent handling is the strengthening or elevation of the New River embankment. This year the work can be started," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Natural Resources Service, Yusmada Farizal.
