Bawaslu Chair Reminds KPU To Be Careful In Setting DPT For The 2024 Election
Chairman of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) RI Rahmat Bagja reminded the General Elections Commission (KPU) to be careful in setting a permanent voter list (DPT) in the 2024 General Election.
"(KPU) Be careful. Be careful (determination problem) DPT. For example, we (Bawaslu) found someone who died, but it has not been crossed out (from DPT). The reason is that there has been no death certificate," said Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.
According to Bagja, caution in determining the DPT can ensure that Indonesians who have the right to vote can exercise this right on voting day for the 2024 General Election on February 14.
Previously, Bagja said that Bawaslu found a number of categories of voters who did not meet the requirements (TMS) based on the results of supervision of the stages of matching and research (coklit) of voter data for the 2024 General Election on February 12-March 14, 2023.
Among these categories, 20,655 TNI/Polri personnel were found to be on the voter list.
A total of 20,655 TNI/Polri personnel who were included as a voter list consisted of 11,457 TNI personnel and 9,198 Polri personnel from a number of regions.
In addition to TNI/Polri personnel, Bawaslu also found six other TMS voters who were included in the voter list for the 2024 General Election.
First, it was found that 5,065,265 voters had misplaced polling stations (TPS). They come from Lampung, West Java, South Sumatra, NTT, and South Sulawesi Provinces.
According to Bawaslu, the appearance of voters who misplaced TPS was due to the restructuring of TPS carried out by the KPU in a short time.
The next TMS voter category is people who have died. Bawaslu found that 868,545 identities of residents who had died in West Java, Lampung, South Sulawesi, Riau, and NTT were still included in the list of voters for the 2024 General Election.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
Next, there are also unrecognized voters. Bawaslu found as many as 202,776 unrecognized voters from West Java, North Maluku, Riau, DKI Jakarta, and NTT.
Fourth, Bawaslu also found the category of TMS voters, namely as many as 145,660 people who had moved domicile from West Java, Riau, North Sulawesi, NTT, and DKI Jakarta.
Fifth, 94,956 underage voters were found in Lampung, West Java, NTT, South Sumatra, and North Sumatra. Sixth, 78,365 voters were also found, not local residents in Lampung, Riau, North Sumatra, West Java, and South Sumatra.
Bawaslu hopes that all the findings have been completed by the KPU before the determination of the DPT for the 2024 General Election.
