Banda Aceh Residents Find Active Mortars Of Dutch Heritage
BANDA ACEH - A resident of Gampong Pango Raya, Ulee Kareng District, Banda Aceh Syafrizal (56) found an active mortar (bomb) suspected of being a Dutch relic. Mortir was evacuated by the Jibom Sat Brimobda team of the Aceh Police.
"It's true, this afternoon there was a mortar discovery next to the house of a resident of gampong Pango Raya at around 16.40 WIB," said Ulee Kareng Police Chief Iptu Roby Afriza as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 20.
Roby said the mortar was found by the witness while cleaning the garden near the yard of his house. Then, when he was hoeing the ground and hitting an object that resembled an active bomb.
Seeing the object, said Roby, the witness immediately stopped cleaning the garden and reported his findings to the Ulee Kareng Police.
After that, Ulee Kareng Police personnel immediately went to the location to see the object suspected of being the round explosives, and security was carried out at the scene.

"We immediately contacted the Head of Ops to coordinate the findings and proceed to the Jibom Unit of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Aceh Police," he said.
Furthermore, at around 17.00 WIB the Jibom Sat Brimobda Aceh Police arrived at the scene to secure the bomb.
"The 40 cm bomb MORtir has now been evacuated by the Jibom team," said Iptu Roby.
