Happy Vesak 2023, Jokowi Happy Indonesia Welcomes The Tudhong Hero Of Different Countries
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo congratulated the Tri Suci Vesak 2567 Buddhist Era (BE) or 2023 which was celebrated today, Sunday, June 4.
Jokowi prefers to be happy because the series of Waisak celebration events held in the country in the previous days went smoothly.
Buddhist monks from all over the world who took part in Vesak at Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, also received an open-handed welcome from the people in Indonesia.
"The monks from various countries performed the Tudhong ritual on foot thousands of kilometers to Borobudur Temple and received warm reception along the way," Jokowi said on his Twitter account @jokowi, Sunday, June 4.
Jokowi then congratulated the Buddhists on Vesak Day 2567 BE or 2023. In this celebration, which is the commemoration of the birth of Siddharta Gautama, Jokowi hopes that religious harmony will continue to exist and joy will always accompany the community everywhere.
"To all Buddhists, happy celebrating Vesak Day. May all creatures live happily," said Jokowi.

Previously, monks from all over the world underwent a number of religious series in the country before commemorating Vesak in the courtyard of Borobudur Temple.
Some of them took holy water in Umbul Jumprit, Tegalrejo Village, Temanggung, Central Java.
