Ganjar Yakin Jokowi Tak Cawe-cawe Intervention Pilpres 2024

JAKARTA - Candidate for president (candidate) Ganjar Pranowo believes that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will not intervene in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). However, he still has political rights.

"When it comes to girls as party cadres, he must be fussy because he has political rights," said Ganjar at the Aspirational House for Winning Volunteers, Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 1.

"But if the jokes that have been interpreted so far will intervene politically in the whole sense which then becomes unfair, I don't think that will happen," he continued.

This belief is based on his closeness to the president. Moreover, Ganjar was one of Jokowi's success teams when he ran as Mayor of Solo, Governor of DKI Jakarta, and during the 2004 and 2019 presidential elections.

Therefore, Ganjar said that Jokowi's actions were limited to using his political rights as a party cadre, not as a head of state to intervene in the course of the democratic party.

"Pak Jokowi mentored me in the government. He is the president, I am the governor. I have known him since he became mayor, we are his success team at governor's, the team was successful in the presidential election, and we are very close," he said.

President Jokowi previously met with editor-in-chief (pimred) mass media as well as media activists at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. During the meeting, Minister of State Secretariat Pratikno and also Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin were also present.

During the meeting, Jokowi admitted that he would participate in political problems in the 2024 General Election. However, this step is not for personal or group interests, but to ensure that development in his government is currently being continued by the next head of state.
