Teacher Of Ngaji Cabuli Dozens Of Male Students In Garut Arrested By Police

Garut Police arrested a home recitation teacher for allegedly committing immoral acts of molesting dozens of underage students in Garut Regency, West Java.

"The number of victims who have been examined is 10 people, but from the statements of the witnesses there are still seven other victims who have not been questioned," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Garut Police, AKP Deni Nurcahyadi, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1.

He said the suspect with the initials AS (50), a resident of Samarang District, Garut Regency, was reported because behind his activities as a Koran teacher at his house he committed immoral acts.

The victims, he said, were classified as many, all of whom were boys.

The police are still investigating the perpetrator's confession by conducting a post-mortem on the victim.

"We have examined several victims and conducted post-mortem on the victim," he said.

Deni said that the suspect, who lives alone in his house, used to carry out daily activities as a Koran teacher with his students who had lived around his house since 2022.

However, the deviant behavior of the suspect, said Deni, was only discovered after there was a complaint from one of his children to his parents who claimed to be an immoral victim.

Furthermore, the victim's parents reported the incident to the police, then an investigation was carried out until an investigation was finally determined by a suspect in the case.

The results of the suspect's examination show that the number of victims of underage boys is quite large, as evidenced by reports from a number of children's parents.

"The child's parents asked parents whose children were both taught at the suspect's house and apparently experienced the same thing," he said.

Deni conveyed the suspect's modus operandi by wooing him, to threatening violence if he did not fulfill his wishes and wooing the children by lending him a cell phone.

In addition, he said, the suspect also threatened his student not to come to the Koran anymore if he did not fulfill his obscene desires.

"Before committing this act, the suspect forced the victim's child to obey his wishes and if not, the victim's child should not come and recite the Koran again with the suspect," he said.

However, his actions have now been uncovered and languishing in the Garut Police Detention Center to undergo further legal proceedings.

The suspect was charged with Article 76 e in conjunction with Article 82 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection with a penalty of 15 years in prison, plus a third because there were more than one victim.
