Not Rape, Central Sulawesi Police Chief Calls Victims Of Sex In Parigi Moutong Seduced To Promise Marriage

PALU - Central Sulawesi Regional Police revealed a case of sexual intercourse of minors against RO (15) that occurred in Parigi Moutong Regency.

"This is not a rape case, but a case of sexual intercourse of minors and the actions of the suspects were carried out individually, not forcibly, but there was persuasion and lure, and even promised marriage," said Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Agus Nugroho as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1.

The Regional Police Chief explained that the case had occurred since April 2022 and RO's family reported it in January 2023 at the Parigi Moutong Police Station after the victim suffered a stomach pain.

Based on the victim's statement, the case was carried out in different places within 10 months.

"Reports received are directly processed using the Child Protection Act with a minimum penalty of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years," he said.

Kapolda said that of the 11 men reported, the police have named 10 suspects, namely HR 43 who are village heads in Parigi Moutong, ARH (40) an elementary school teacher in Sausu Village, AK (47), AR (26), MT (36), FN (22), K (32), AW, AS and AK.

Meanwhile, MKS, who is a member of the National Police, is still under investigation and has not been named a suspect, arguing that there is not enough evidence.

Based on the case, the police confiscated evidence from the victim, namely one cloth, one t-shirt and one trousers. Meanwhile, the suspect was secured by a Honda Jazz and STNK.
