Encourage The Realization Of The Great Design Of National Sports, Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture: Preparing For Young Guidance

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy emphasized the importance of realizing the Great Design of National Sports (DBON).

According to the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, DBON can create a healthy, strong and intelligent future for Indonesian people.

"So exercise is the main goal of a healthy society. So that this nation is healthy, strong, and intelligent. Especially in preparing a quality young generation and for youth development," said the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture in his statement, Wednesday, May 31.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture explained that the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 86 of 2021 concerning the Great Design of National Sports had been running for approximately two years.

"In its implementation, DBON becomes a reference in the development of national sports," he said.

DBON, he said, is a long-term sports development program 2021-2045 which includes sports, education, community sports and achievement sports.

"One of the targets of DBON is that Indonesia is able to achieve the best achievements at the 2044 Olympics," he said.

Furthermore, Muhadjir emphasized that the implementation of DBON should not only focus on pursuing achievements.

According to him, there are three things that need attention, namely educational sports, community sports, and achievement sports, all three must be carried out to realize healthy Indonesian human resources.

"Without all three things being built in a complete and integrated manner, the target to create a healthy, strong, and intelligent Indonesia cannot be achieved, this is the commitment of the DBON," he said.

Thus, he continued, the DBON includes all three, and it becomes the overall goal of human resource development.

Muhadjir said, based on what was conveyed by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, that the implementation of the Great Design of National Sports would begin based on schools through educational sports schemes.

"Therefore, the role of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the role of the Ministry of Religion has become very strategic," he said.

Furthermore, Muhadjir said the implementation of DBON would also be followed up with the Grand Design of Regional Sports (DBOD).
