KPU Will Check Aldi Taher's Resignation Letter From The United Nations

Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari said he would examine Aldi Taher's resignation letter from the Crescent Star Party (PBB).

"If then there is news that person A has resigned, person B has resigned, later we will check whether his resignation letter is there or not," said Hasyim as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.

This examination is to ensure that the existence of the letter has been submitted to the KPU or not.

"KPU is considered to know that the KPU has received its resignation letter," he added.

On Tuesday (16/5) Aldi Taher admitted that he had resigned as a prospective member of the DKI DPRD from the DKI PBB DPW. This has also been conveyed to the DKI PBB DPW.

Not only that, Aldi Taher also had time to upload a statement regarding his transfer from the United Nations to Perindo through his Instagram account.

"In media, there is information that I will run for the DKI Pileg with the PBB, he is right but bismillahqodarullah God willing, please pray for my blessing. I have decided to run for the 2024 DPR RI Legislative Election with @partaipindo," wrote Aldi Taher in his upload, quoted by ANTARA on Wednesday.

Even so, Hasyim assessed that the news could not be justified, because there was no valid evidence regarding the resignation of Aldi Taher from the United Nations. According to him, candidates for legislative members (caleg) can only be promoted by one political party (parpol).

"For example, if party A is nominated for the DPR RI, that's all. You can't, for example, nominate it by party A as well for Provincial or Regency/City DPRDs. Likewise, more than one political party," said Hasyim.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta KPU had communicated with the Crescent Star Party (PBB) regarding the clarity of artist Aldi Taher as a candidate for a candidate for the 2024 Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

According to Nurdin, the United Nations said Aldi Taher was included in the management of the party's Central Leadership Council (DPP). But on the other hand, Aldi also ran for member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Perindo Party.

If Aldi Taher decides to run with Perindo for the DPR seat, then the UN must hand over the replacement for Aldi Taher.

"If, for example, advancing in the Perindo Party, it means that he must resign, then his successor will be prepared," said Nurdin.

It also cannot confirm who else will be a candidate at the DKI KPU who was caught registering with the DPR through a different party.
