Malaysia Strongly Condemns The Latest Attack On Al Aqsa Mosque
KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia strongly condemns the latest attack on the Al Aqsa Mosque and the surrounding courtyard area by Israel which took place on May 18, 2023.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry in a press statement issued in Putrajaya on Sunday said the planned raids on Muslim holy places and flag parades in Jerusalem's Old City exacerbated the already dangerous situation at the site.
These actions are clearly provocations and striking violations of the purity of the respected Holy Site.
Wisma Putra asked the international community to stop turning a blind eye to violations of human rights continuing and apartheid policies by the Israeli regime in the Palestinian Population Region.
The statement stated that Malaysia is in a position to stand firm with the principle that Palestine deserves to have its own independent and sovereign state, based on the pre-1967 border, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Palestinian authorities on Wednesday 17 May warned that the flag march planned by Israeli settlers in the occupation of East Jerusalem would trigger tensions in the region.
