Police Name Bus Driver Suspect Death Of Gas Station Officer In Ogan Ilir

OGAN ILIR - Police officers named the bus driver with the initials MNI as a suspect in the incident when he was hit by a public fuel station officer to death in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, on Friday 5 May. Head of the Indralaya Sector Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Herman Romlie in Indralaya, said that the MNI suspect was a resident of Pidie Regency, Aceh, who works as an intercity interprovincial bus driver (AKAP) PMTOH on the Aceh-Bandung route. He allegedly hit a gas station attendant in Indralaya, Ogan Ilir, with the initials R (23) after antre filling oil on Friday evening. MNI was named a suspect after police investigators obtained sufficient evidence, including video footage of surveillance cameras (CCTV) belonging to gas stations and strengthened statements of a number of witnesses in the investigation process. "MNI also admitted that it had an exhausted effect so that it could not control the bus that was driving itself until it crashed into a gas station officer," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 10. From the results of the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect MNI was the driver who replaced the AKAP PMTOH bus and at that time replaced his colleague. MNI was driving the bus starting Betung, Banyuasin, South Sumatra, which then passed in Indralaya, Ogan Ilir, to continue its journey to Bandung, West Java. On the way, the bus stopped at the Indralaya gas station to fill up fuel, but it did not turn out that the solar stock at the gas station was depleted and the bus continued its journey.

"From there the car went hard to the right until it finally hit the victim who was guarding the Pertamax charging depot to death," added Herman. For his actions, the MNI suspect was charged with Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding negligence which resulted in the death of another person with a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
