Menparekraf RI Calls Preparation Of The 2023 Asean Summit Final Stage
TANGERANG - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno ensured that preparations for the Asean 2023 Summit (KTT) entered the final stage. This was said after seeing the hotel preparation to transportation.
"We convey that the preparations have entered the final stage. All tourism hotels, transportation, all conditions are ready. We hope that the Asean Summit will run smoothly," Sandi told reporters in Neglasari, Tangerang City, Sunday, May 7.
"The recommendation of the delegation of all participants is safe. For supporters and equipment, we have also prepared floating hotels such as ships from Pelni and Pinisi that we have prepared," he continued.
Sandi also said that he would maximize the existing tourism in Labuan Bajo to the guests of the Asean Summit later. He will even prepare a direct flight to Labuan Bajo.
"We have totality, basically Labuan Bajo we support very much. We also have direct flights from Korea or transits from Korea-Australia-Malaysia and Singapore. There is interest from Vietnam directly to Labuan Bajo. But we will take care of the conservation aspects later," he explained.
Previously, it was reported that President Joko Widodo revealed the principle of Indonesia in holding the chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023 in connection with the holding of the ASEAN 2023 Summit (KTT) which was held in the country.
Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia does not want to make the Southeast Asian state geopolitical organization a proxy involved in any war.
This was revealed by Jokowi when checking the readiness of facilities ahead of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The ASEAN Summit agenda in NTT will be held on May 10 and 11, 2023.
"Indonesia's principle in ASEAN chairman is collaboration and cooperation with anyone and we don't want ASEAN to be anyone's proxy, any country's proxies," Jokowi said in a YouTube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Sunday, May 7.

Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia as the chairman of ASEAN prioritizes the principles of collaboration and cooperation between ASEAN and any party.
