Not Three Or Two, The National Team's Esports Sport Targets To Win 1st At The Cambodian SEA Games
JAKARTA - The implementation of the Southeast Asian Games, the 2023 SEA Games will soon begin in Cambodia. On Tuesday, May 2 yesterday morning, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially released the Indonesian contingent, in the courtyard of the State Palace.
In his remarks, Jokowi gave a message that all in the 2023 Cambodian SEA Games, Indonesia must increase the number of medals and increase achievements from what Indonesia was previously ranked third.
"I only ordered at the Vietnam SEA Games, we got at that time a 69 gold medal and our ranking in third place. Now it should be more than that, I ask for the gold above 69 and the ranking as well. The choice is ranked first or second," said Jokowi.
Meanwhile, esports sport has its own target, not being the third or second place, but the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) wants Indonesia to become the first winner in the sport.
"Yesterday, our target was to win 3, now we have to win first or second place. But, if at esports, we have a target to become first place," said PBESI Daily Chair Bambang Sunarwibowo at the Esports National Team Release event to the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games, on Wednesday, May 3.

Bambang also called for enthusiasm for all athletes and management who will compete, bringing the name of Indonesia there.
"We have to be enthusiastic, if we look at the training three months ago, both male and female athletes, I see a strong spirit in training every day. Discipline, training, improving intellectuality, increasing dexterity, and building cooperation," he explained.
He also invited athletes to continue to improve their abilities, seeing that they were selected professional athletes who managed to get through the tightness of the preliminary period.
"Within three months you have to be better than before, then that's success. If you don't improve yourself then it's no different from yesterday's recruitment and preliminary process," concluded Bambang.
For information, the schedule for esports sports at the Cambodian SEA Games will take place from May 8 to 15. For details, the match will wait for further information later.
