Up 6 Percent, 633,793 People Cross From Java To Sumatra Via Merak Port
MERAK - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) noted that as many as 633,793 people had crossed from Java to Sumatra via Merak, Ciwandan, and Bandar Bakau Jaya ports.
This number is calculated from April 12 to April 20 or D-2 Lebaran which is predicted to fall on April 22, 2023.
Based on ASDP data, the number of travelers as many as 633,793 people increased by about 6 percent compared to the realization of the same period in 2022 as many as 595,874 people.
And the total number of vehicles that have crossed was recorded at 148,597 units, an increase of 3 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 143,782 units.
Meanwhile, the total number of passengers crossing from Sumatra to Java in the same period was recorded at 321,395 people, an increase of 10 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 292,173 people.
And the total number of vehicles that have crossed was recorded at 59,467 units, an increase of 3 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 57,701 units.
As for daily passenger data at the Merak Command Post for 24 hours (period 19 April 2023 at 08.00 WIB until 20 April 2023 at 08.00 WIB), the number of ships operating was 50 ships.
The realization of total passengers reached 164,305 people, an increase of 5 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 155,812 people.
The realization of two-wheeled vehicles reached 18,753 units, an increase of 1 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 18,540 units.
It was recorded that the realization of four-wheeled vehicles reached 18,542 units, an increase of 6 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 17,452 units.
Meanwhile, logistics trucks that have crossed from Java to Sumatra reached 1,024 units, an increase of 10 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year as many as 933 units.
So that the total number of vehicles recorded 39,129 units that had crossed from Java to Sumatra on D-2 or an increase of 4 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 37,692 units.
In contrast, data from the Bakauheni Command Post on D-2 recorded the realization of total passengers reaching 55,984 people, an increase of 9 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 51,234 people.

It was recorded that the realization of four-wheeled vehicles reached 7,096 units, an increase of 7 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 6,653 units.
Meanwhile, logistics trucks that have crossed from Sumatra to Java reached 939 units, down 27 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year as many as 1,295 units.
The total number of vehicles recorded 9,328 units that had crossed from Sumatra to Java on D-2 or an increase of 3 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 9,037 units.
