Shin Tae-yong's Hope Ahead Of The U-20 World Cup Draw: Honestly Want A Easier Opponent
JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, was asked about his hopes ahead of the U-20 World Cup draw in Bali at the end of March. The man from South Korea hopes that the Garuda Nusantara team can get an easy opponent.
"Honestly, I want (the U-20 Indonesian National Team) to have an easier opponent, of course," said Shin Tae-yong during an event held by PSSI at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta on Monday, March 20 at noon WIB.
The U-20 World Cup will take place on May 20-June 11 next. Indonesia, appointed to host, is included in Pot 1 with Uruguay, United States, France, Senegal and Italy.
However, Shin tries to be realistic that not all expectations go according to his wishes. He is relaxed and heartened by whoever will be faced later.
Shin can calm down because he already has experience in big tournaments.
"Indeed, we want it to be like that, not necessarily, but I already have experience at the U-20 World Cup in South Korea, there is also the 2018 World Cup (senior) in my mind," said Shin.
"Therefore, please pray so that we can get easier opponents for all of us," hoped the coach.
So far, the U-20 national team continues to undergo thorough preparations with the training camp (TC) agenda. The TC will last until next April.
