Current Situation Of Nani Wijaya Funeral Home, Family Has Gathered
JAKARTA - The entertainment world in Indonesia is mourning the passing of Nani Wijaya. Passed away at 3.28 WIB at Fatmawati General Hospital, South Jakarta, the body of the legend was buried at a funeral home in the Sentul area, Bogor.
Based on VOI monitoring, the atmosphere at the funeral home at 11.25 WIB was seen to be crowded with families and local residents. Not only that, several fellow artists were seen attending.
Several wreaths were also lined up around the funeral home. One of the bouquets came on behalf of the Bajaj Bajuri Big Family.
"Our deepest condolences for the death of Hj. Nani Wijaya," wrote the wreath.
From the funeral home, the body of the late Nani Wijaya will be prayed for at the Al Munawaroh Mosque, before being buried at the Karang Tengah Public Cemetery, Bogor.
For information, Nani Wijaya was rushed to the hospital earlier this month after experiencing shortness of breath. She was treated intensively for about two weeks, before finally passing away.
Nani Wijaya was born a few months before Indonesian independence, precisely on November 10, 1944, in Cirebon. At the age of 16, Nani made her acting debut through her appearance in the movie Darah Tinggi (1960), directed by Lilik Sudjio.
Even though she had a pretty good career as a teenage actress at the time, Nani Wijaya still chose to continue her education up to university. She was noted to have studied at the University of Indonesia.

Then, in 1969 she married a director and writer from Lebak, Banten, Misbach Yusa Biran. Both of them lived happily with six children, namely Nina Kartika, Tita Fitrah Soraya, Cahya Kamila, Sukma Ayu, Firdausi, and Farry Hanief.
During her heyday, Nani won two Citra Awards in the Best Supporting Actor category through the movies Yang Muda Yang Bercinta (1978) and R.A. Kartini (1983).
Having six children, Nani continues to cultivate acting into her old age. One of the roles that Indonesian people remember the most is when she starred in the Bajaj Bajuri sitcom from 2002 to 2007.
Her character which is quite annoying as the parent of Oneng (Rieke Diah Pitaloka) as well as the mother-in-law of Bajuri (Mat Solar), Nina managed to make Emak Eti's character quite iconic in the eyes of Indonesian viewers.
