Press Inflation Ahead Of Ramadan, Banjarbaru Cheap Market Turnover Books IDR 169 Million
Banjarbaru - The cheap market, which was held for two days by the Banjarbaru City Government, South Kalimantan Province, was able to record revenue of IDR 169.9 million. The purpose of holding this cheap market located in Dr Murdjani Field is to control inflation and welcome Ramadan.
Head of the Trade Division of the Banjarbaru City Government Trade Office, Anshori, in Banjarbaru, said Saturday that the total turnover was collected from traders for two days, namely March 8-9.
"The first day the total turnover sold out of 74 traders in the cheap market was Rp74.1 million and the second day was Rp95.8 million, so that during the two days the turnover was Rp169.9 million," said Anshori, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 11.
He continued, the activities carried out by the Banjarbaru Trade Office provided various basic necessities that were sold cheaper, such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, chicken to three kilograms of LPG cylinders.
Anshori also revealed that the cheap market aims to increase people's purchasing power and control inflation. During those two days, rice sold as much as 1.42 tons, and 1,230 kilograms of sugar. Then, 478 kilograms of chicken eggs were sold, 1,230 liters of cooking oil), three kilograms of LPG cylinders (1,016 tubes) and chicken cut which were sold (320).
"Animo people buy basic necessities for two days, the cheap market is quite high, as evidenced by the large number of commodities sold by traders and purchased by buyers from various circles," he added.
The cheap market in Dr Murdjani Field is the beginning of the implementation of the cheap market which has been scheduled for all urban villages in Banjarbaru City to help the surrounding community.
