Individuals Offer Rp40 Million, Pertamina Plumpang Fire Victims Ask, 'What If I Kill You?'
The family of Sumiati's body (71), a victim of the Pertamina Plumpang depot fire, Koja, North Jakarta, was angry. They did not accept the treatment of the person who sent a letter from PT Pertamina (Persero) who gave Rp 10 million at the Kramatjati Police Hospital.
Acep Hidayat (53), a member of Sumiati's family, was angry and turned around to ask the person.
"I turned down the money, I said what if it was turned back? I killed you, then I gave Rp10 million to your wife, would you? We don't want to be treated arbitrarily," Acep told reporters in North Jakarta, Wednesday.
Acep said that when he wanted to remove the body of the late Sumiati at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, a man suddenly handed over a statement that he should not sue the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) company, in exchange for being given Rp. 10 million per body.
Acep was hurt by an offer that he said did not have the good morals. His party's arrival at the Kramatjati Police Hospital was only to remove the bodies of four family members who had been identified, not to ask for mercy from anyone.
Four of the 15 victims of the fire who died and their identities have been identified, namely the Acep Hidayat family, namely Sumiati (the in-laws),urahi Rhea A (the number three child), Raffasya Zajid Attallah (the nephew), M Suheri Irawan (the younger brother-in-law).
However, this person suddenly approached him and submitted a form containing the contents of a statement from the victim's family not to sue PT Pertamina (Persero), which Acep hopes to sign, but Acep refuses.
Acep suspects that the letter did not come from PT Pertamina (Persero) because there was no letterhead, allegedly deliberately so that it could not be claimed that the letter was made by them themselves.
According to Acep, the letters given were such as blank forms with columns for names, and others, then point three there were words that were willing not to sue Pertamina Group.
Acep was also surprised because after signing the release of the body and being given a death certificate, this person could enter the administrative room at the Kramatjati Police Hospital.
The person did not admit what he was at Pertamina. That's why he did not believe that a total of Rp40 million would be given to the bodies of four family members after signing the letter.
In the future, Asep wants PT Pertamina (Persero) to respond to this incident in a good way to find the best solution.
Pertamina check
West Java Regional General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Deny Djukardi said his party would check the incident on behalf of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga when he was asked by reporters during the takziah event against the victim who died as a result of the Plumpang Depo incident, citing Antara, Thursday, March 9.
"I'll confirm it again, it's related to that, because we are also still recording each victim, both the heirs. Of course we are still trying the data, then related to the gift later I will confirm with our team in Plumpang," said Deny.
