Members Of The Pantarlih 2024 Election Buried By The Natuna Serasan Landslide Died

JAKARTA - An officer for updating voter data (pantarih) for the 2024 election was buried by landslides on Serasan Island, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri).

Riau Islands Provincial KPU member Arison said the panteranglih member named Delta Yuharni, was buried by a landslide with her place of residence.

"We have not received information whether the families of the survivors are safe or not," he said in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, Thursday, March 9, as reported by Antara.

Arison revealed that during his tenure as phantarlih, Delta had matched and researched voter data in Pangkalan Village, Serasan Island.

Delta completed its task faster because the number of voters at the polling station (TPS) in Pangkalan Village was relatively small, or it did not reach 200 people.

The Riau Islands Provincial KPU seeks to get Delta compensation from the KPU. "We are still studying the technicalities to get the compensation," he added.

In addition to members of the pantarih, he said, a member of the voting committee (PPS) and a staff member of the PPS Secretariat have not yet been found.

The family reported that they had lost them after the landslide incident. Their house was buried by a landslide.

"Hopefully they are safe, not victims of the disaster," he said.

The Joint Team for Response to the Serasan and East Serasan Disasters reported that as many as 21 people were found dead after being buried by landslides.

Meanwhile, 35 other people were reported missing by the family. Three victims were in critical condition, one of whom died while being taken by ship to Ranai Hospital.

A total of 1,216 victims are still displaced in a number of places prepared by the government.
