Horror Incident Of Madura United Player Ricki Ariansyah Becomes New Homework For PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir

JAKARTA – A horror incident occurred at the end of the match between PSIS Semarang versus Madura United in the continuation of League 1 2022/2023, Tuesday, March 7. Madura United player, Ricki Ariansyah, collapsed.

Ricki was unconscious when he scored Madura United's second goal against PSIS. The 25-year-old player collapsed and was unconscious in the added minutes of second-half time.

When he headed the ball, Ricki seemed to be hit by an opponent's kick right in the face. He immediately fell down before the other players realized that Ricki was unconscious.

After the incident Ricki immediately received medical help before being rushed to the hospital. However, medical equipment for emergency aid is considered completely inadequate.

This was criticized by Madura United player Lee Yu-jun. He then proposed that PSSI needed to make regulations to deal with emergencies faced by footballers.

"PSSI must have regulations regarding emergencies for players. Like the incident earlier, an ambulance is available, but medical equipment for emergencies is not ready. Even just oxygen is not available," Lee wrote on Instagram Story.

After receiving help from officers, Ricki was immediately taken to St. Elisabeth Hospital Semarang. At this time he was also reported to be conscious.

"Please prioritize matters related to player safety. Don't just talk about naturalization, but the medical team is not at all standard," Lee added.

The additional three points have made Madura United to fifth place in the current standings. The team nicknamed Sape Kerrab collected 45 points, two points adrift from Bali United in the final top four.
