NTB Governor Chooses AHY To Accompany Anies In Presidential Election Compared To Khofifah
MATARAM - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) politician who is also the governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Zulkieflimansyah prefers Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to Khofifah Indar Parawansa who is worthy of accompanying the future presidential candidate Anies Baswedan in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
"For us at PKS, the right person to accompany Anies is AHY," he said in Mataram, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 27.
Zulkieflimansyah believes that AHY can be a strength for Anies Baswedan because it will make the PKS, Democrat, and NasDem coalitions more solid. This is because, without the Democratic Party, the coalition of parties supporting Anies cannot be formed.
"So that there is solidity between the Nasdem Change Coalition, PKS, and Democrats. If there are no Democrats, this coalition will not be either. PKS is also not insistent on the Vice President. But we want this Change Coalition to immediately have a Vice President so that it is visible," said Bang Zul, his familiar greeting.
Bang Zul admits that the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa also has a chance because as a regional head, so far he has no political affiliation with any political party.
"There is indeed an urge to pair Anies with Mrs. Khofifah, because Mrs. Khofifah is the head of a region with a large province, representing the NU gender as well. Then, Mrs. Khofifah, a figure who is among the elite in Jakarta and is not tied to any political party," he explained.

However, he continued, when asked about the direction of PKS, Zulkieflimansyah was of the view that AHY was more suitable to accompany the future presidential candidate Anies Baswedan as a vice presidential candidate.
It was discussed regarding PKS's target for Anies Baswedan's victory in NTB after the declaration of the former Governor of DKI Jakarta as a presidential candidate by the PKS DPP. Zulkieflimansyah can't be sure. But he hopes Anies can win in NTB.
"In fact, PKS has made a declaration with Anies. From a survey we conducted, there are relatively many Anies supporters in NTB, in fact, the majority. But we don't know how many, we'll see," he said.
