Mendes PDTT Abdul Halim Iskandar Hopes IKN Becomes A Showcase For Nusantara Villages
JAKARTA - The Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar hopes that the principles of harmony, mutual cooperation, and transparency in village development will remain in the Capital City of the Nusantara (IKN) so that it will become a Nusantara village showcase in the eyes of the world.
"The 14 villages, if possible, don't turn them into sub-districts. So that they become a showcase. These are villages in Indonesia as good as this. Democracy, transparency in development, as well as the implementation of mutual cooperation and harmony," said the Mendes PDTT in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 25th.
When receiving an audience with the Secretary of the Nusantara Capital Authority, in his office on Friday, he said that villages with their cultural wisdom have proven capable of managing development in every line of matter, including the transparency of data that continues to be displayed.
Thus, villagers can participate in and correct any development policy programs, both those that will be and have been carried out by the village government.
"Regarding data transparency, the village is used to starting the Temporary Voter List (DPS), and displaying it so residents can check. Whether the name has been entered or not, if not report it immediately," said Gus Halim, as he is usually called.
