PLN Electrical Infrastructure For Lake Toba Powerboat F1 Event Completed

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) ensures that electricity ahead of the F1 Powerboat (F1H2O) super-fast boat racing world championship is ready for use.

The Main Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo said, all the electrical infrastructure to support the F1 Powerboat has been completed.

“All preparations have been completed 100 percent. Starting from generators that use new renewable energy (EBT), then on the side of the electricity network and a backup system we have also prepared. We at PLN are committed to maintaining and overseeing the reliability of the electricity supply as long as this international event can run well," said Darmawan to journalists, Monday, February 20.

General Manager of North Sumatra Main Distribution Unit (UID) PLN, Tonny Bellamy, said that his party had also conducted a trial of an electricity security scheme.

A series of simulations is also carried out to ensure that the electrical safety and backup systems function properly.

To support services and accelerate the handling of disturbances, PLN has prepared an electricity post based on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).

This system is integrated from the switching substation, the 20-kilo Volt (kV) network to the electrical security system in the venue.

"The simulation of the electricity security scheme has been carried out and is running well. If there is a disturbance during the performance, PLN can restore the electricity supply in just 3 seconds," explained Tonny.

Tonny ensured that the electricity at the main venue for the F1H2O event and several other supporting venues would continue to be monitored and guaranteed to be safe.

Periodic checks will continue to be carried out by PLN officers to support the success of the event starting from the preparation, opening, peak, and closing stages.
