Minister Of PUPR Becomes CdM Asian Games Hangzhou, Head Of Legal PSSI Becomes CdM SEA Games Cambodia
JAKARTA - The position of Chef de Mission (CdM) for three major events in 2023 is officially appointed. PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono was elected.
Basuki, who is also the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Rowing Sports Association (PB PODSI), was appointed as CdM for the Indonesian contingent which took part in China's Hangzhou Asian Games. The event is scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8.
Another name chosen is PSSI's legal head, Lexyndo Hakim. The General Chairperson of DKI Jakarta Perbasi was appointed as CdM SEA Games Cambodia, May 5-17.
The last name is the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Judo Association (PB PJSI) Lt. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak as CdM Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) Thailand, 17-26 November.
"They are people who have passion and passion in the field of sports. They have been tested for their abilities and hope that in their hands Indonesia can be successful and bring Indonesia to its glory through sports," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 14.
Meanwhile, KOI Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari said the CdM election this time was carried out earlier so that preparations for three multi-events this year were more mature.
"We convey to the public that Chef de Mission is an icon and encouragement to bring Indonesian athletes and contingents to achieve more," said Okto.
Okto hopes that government support is considered important so that communication with athletes and big administrators of each sport that will be competed can run smoothly.
"We need this support. Because after the Chef de Mission is appointed, there will be communication with sports related to the preparation of athletes at the national training. Hopefully, this can give new enthusiasm for future achievements," he said.
