JAKARTA - Rescue team from the International Organization, IHH Turkey, together with Wahdah Inspiration Zakat (WIZ) volunteers from Indonesia, managed to evacuate a number of earthquake victims who were still alive on Friday to Saturday, February 10-11. Andi Muh Fazli AS Parewangi from Makassar as one of the volunteers of the Wahdah Inspired Zakat National Amil Zakat Institute (Laznas WIZ) said that five residents were buried in buildings in Kahramanmaras City who were found alive. "Alhamdulillah, morning until noon at 12.00 (Turkey time), we are trying to evacuate. At the help of Allah, we found five people who are still alive," he said reporting via the internal group of WhatsApp WIZ Turkey received in Makassar, Sunday, February 12. Fazli who is a student from Makassar City, Indonesia while studying in Turkey, said Kahramanmaras City was one of the worst cities hit by the worst earthquake in the region in nearly a century. Even the smell of stinging human corpse.

But as the crew entered its sixth day searching for victims in buildings leveled to the ground, they found several children and adults safe, past a deadline of tens of hours when survivors were thought to be the most likely to be found. The WIZ volunteer team over the past few days has distributed aid to a number of remote locations affected by the earthquake in Turkey. WIZ is a zakat and humanitarian organization hosted by the Wahdah Islamiyah mass organization. Chairman of Wahdah Islamiyah, KH Muhammad Sajan Rasmin, along with the board members have also departed for Turkey.
