Illegal Racers In Bogor City Are Now Duta Stopped 'Rombeng'

JAKARTA - The Bogor City Police Traffic Unit, sent 20 people as ambassadors for'stop the noisy exhaust, aka Brong exhaust'. They will participate in educating the public to stop using the tool that makes noise pollution.

"The Bogor City Police Traffic Unit in the last six months has implemented this, starting from friendship with the community, then having coffee together, Friday it was Curhat. So, among other things, the public complained about noisy exhausts that interfered with comfort, even causing fights and so on," explained the Head of Bogor City Police, Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso, Friday, February 10.

Kombes Pol Bismo said 20 ambassadors to stop the Brong exhaust initially were illegal racing actors who also used Brong exhaust. Then the Satlantas carried out coaching so that they voluntarily stopped their actions with these noisy tools.

The ambassadors had experienced something that was not wearing it while using the noisy exhaust, some of which almost hit people, hit traders, and hit school children and fell.

"There are also those who use it in the alley, as a result of being scolded by their neighbors, so it is not good in a neighboring relationship," he said as quoted by Antara.

Therefore, they finally became part of the police to protect the drivers and road users from exhaust noise.

"For various inputs and complaints from the public about this brong knapot, this is what makes the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit respond to public complaints, complaints from the public to control this Brong exhaust," he said.

Kombes Pol Bismo explained that the use of this Brong exhaust was based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment Number 7 of 2009 below 175 CC that the exhaust of the vehicle must sound below 80.

In addition, he said, based on Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning road transportation traffic article 285 paragraph 1, vehicles with noisy exhausts do not deserve to run because they do not comply with the standard provisions of the manufacturer and have been measured through tools, must comply with specifications, CC restrictions and also remove them from the recognizer according to the law.

"As of Friday afternoon, we have data on the number of exhausts that we have ordered, there are 563 vehicles and follow-up plans, we will carry out the destruction by coordinating with the prosecutor's office and the court," he said.

In the future, he continued, apart from sending ambassadors to educate his friends or the community, the Bogor City Police Satantas will also patrol the location of illegal racing.

According to information from the public, he said, specifically in the Bogor City area, which is prone to Brong exhaust and illegal racing activities, it is spread across the Warung Jambu area in North Bogor District, near the Informa electronics store and the Jambu Dua gasoline Pom, and in the East Bogor District, Jalan Regional Ring Road (R3).

"We will patrol the area to prevent misuse of the place from becoming illegal racing or Brong exhaust. If there is a nightclub that is open 24 hours and is often used for illegal racing people, of course, we will convey messages from the security and social order so that all road users, both motorcyclists and road users, don't become victims of accidents and so on," he said.
