Fabio Quartararo Adds to the List of Rivals in MotoGP 2023, Not Only Francesco Bagnaia

JAKARTA - Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team racer, Fabio Quartararo, includes the name Enea Bastianini in his list of rivals to wade through the 2023 MotoGP competition.

Quartararo's move reflects what happened last season, where Bastianini appeared in a competition between Quartararo, Aleix Espargaro and Francesco Bagnaia.

Even though in the 2022 season, Bastianini appeared on a satellite team, Gresini Racing. Meanwhile this season, the Italian racer will race the factory Ducati motorbike.

Bastianini will obviously get the latest motorbike and full support from the Ducati Lenovo team just like Bagnaia.

It is this fact that makes Quartararo make Bastianini one of the favourites to win the world title.

"I would say he (Enea Bastianini) is one of the favourites for the championship, which means adding competition", said Quartararo quoted from Motorsport on Monday, February 6.

"Because last year it was just his second season and he had an amazing season."

"Four wins and two second-place podiums. He does make mistakes and often falls. But this is only the second season in his career", continued Quartararo about Bastianini.

However, Quartararo sees an advantage in joining Bastianini to the factory Ducati team. The French racer thinks that Bastianini's figure will create his own competition with Bagnaia.

This can make Bagnaia's concentration split so that Quartararo's chances of winning the title are even greater.

"I think it will be great to see a fight with Pecco (Francesco Bagnaia) in the official Ducati team. Together they won eleven races last year", said Quartararo.

"It will be a stronger (Ducati) team, but when your partner is stronger than you will be a great fight", said El Diablo.
