Eri Cahyadi Wants To Operate In Surabaya, Not Just Saving Loans But Assistanceing The Weak And Poor
Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi wants cooperatives not only to be savings and loan locations or only for the benefit of the management but to move for the benefit of the people, prosper, and help local residents."I will fully support when the cooperative moves for the benefit of the people, namely helping the poor and residents who are not yet working," said Eri Cahyadi in a written statement in Surabaya, Antara, Sunday, January 5.For this reason, he advised all members of the cooperative in Surabaya to also invite local residents, both young people and housewives who have not worked.Until now, there are still many Surabaya residents who do not have jobs and live below the poverty line. According to him, to solve this problem, community participation and mutual cooperation are needed."So the rich help the poor, the strong help the weak. Now, the weak and the poor respect the rich and strong, because they are helped like brothers," he said.Cak Eri emphasized his desire to build Surabaya by synergizing and involving all parties, because the government will certainly not be able to solve the problem itself or without involving the community."So it's time for us to synergize with one another. God willing, with a strong synergy, Surabaya will be even greater. With strong synergy, Surabaya will become a city that is 'Boldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghofur' (A country that collects the good of nature and the good of people's behavior)," he said.Surabaya's Sumber Rizky Alayna Cooperative (SRA) supervisor Teguh Rahmanto explained that the SRA Cooperative is a development of the Yamatas Mulia Barokah (SMB) Cooperative on Jalan Tambak Wedi II, Kenjeran, Surabaya."The goal is to recruit and increase the number of tailors in southern and surrounding Surabaya. We are trying to bring services closer to tailors, so that the number of tailors to be recruited becomes more and more," he said.Currently, he said, the SRA Cooperative has succeeded in recruiting 36 tailors.Even so, he also invited young people, especially those who have not worked in the Ngagel Rejo area, to increase their income by joining the SRA Cooperative."Well, this young one must be encouraged. There are mothers who can get additional income, young cooking cannot be done. Hopefully, with these mothers it will be an encouragement," he said.
