Visit Turkey, Minister of Defense Prabowo: We Just Signed a Very Historical Thing
JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto visited Turkey to strengthen cooperation in the defence sector. He also admitted that he had signed something very historic during his visit.
On this occasion, Prabowo met with Turkish Defense Minister Halus Akar in Bakanliklar, Ankara, Turkey.
"We have just signed something very historic and important, namely an action plan which is a follow-up to the strategic cooperation relationship between the two countries", said Prabowo in a written statement received in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Saturday, February 4.
The meeting between the two defence ministers took place on Friday, February 3, yesterday. During the meeting, the two signed an action plan for defence cooperation between the two countries.
The signing of the action plan is to strengthen steps in this cooperation to increase the potential for training and the defence industry.
"I am optimistic that close cooperation within the strategic partnership framework between Turkey and Indonesia can contribute to world peace and stability", said Prabowo.
During the visit, Defense Minister Prabowo and the Indonesian delegation received a warm welcome from the Turkish Defense Minister. Prabowo also expressed his gratitude for the greeting.
"Once again, thank you for the warm welcome, and the cooperation that has existed so far and we look forward to the next historic collaboration", said Prabowo.

Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar explained, the two parties had discussed the smooth implementation of this cooperation to produce this action plan.
"It is important for us to increase the potential for military training and cooperation between Turkey and Indonesia in the defence industry", said Hulusi.
With this cooperation, he hopes that the Indonesia-Turkey bilateral relations in the field of defence can make a positive contribution.
"Not only for the national interests of the two countries but also regional security", said Hulusi.
