2 Members Of The East Java DPRD Don't Fulfill KPK Calls Regarding Allegations Of Bribes For Grant Management Due To Umrah
JAKARTA - Two members of the East Java DPRD, Muhamad Reno Zulkarnaen and Achmad Sillahudin, did not comply with the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday, February 1 yesterday.
Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the two were in Umrah. In fact, Reno and Achmad will be questioned as witnesses to the alleged bribery in managing the grant funds that ensnared the Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua, P. Simanjuntak.
"The two witnesses were not present and confirmed for reasons of Umrah worship," Ali told reporters, Thursday, February 2.
Investigators will reschedule their summons. However, Ali did not specify when.
Even though they failed to examine two members of the East Java DPRD, the KPK still examined eight other witnesses. Ali said investigators asked them to explain the discussion of the rules to the distribution of grant funds.
The eight witnesses examined consisted of seven members of the East Java DPRD, namely Sri Untari; Fauzan Fu'adi; Muhammad Fawait; Blegur Prijanggono; Suyanti Priasmoro; Heri Romadhon; and kusnadi.
Meanwhile, another one is an employee of Bank BNI Surabaya, Maudy Farah Fauzi. "The witnesses were present and their knowledge was explored, among others, related to the discussion of the rules and process of dissolving the East Java Provincial Government grant funds," said Ali.
In this case, Sahat was named a suspect along with three other people, namely Sahat expert staff, Rusdi; Abdul Hamid who is the Head of Jelgung Village, Robatal District, Sampang Regency who is also the Coordinator of the Community Group; and Ilham Wahyudi alias Eeng who is the Coordinator of Pokmas Field.
The determination of the suspect was based on a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday, December 14. Sahat allegedly offered assistance to facilitate the proposal for a grant fund, which totaled Rp7.8 trillion. This gift is intended for agencies, institutions, community organizations in the East Java Provincial Government.
Sahat received from 2021 and continued until 2022 and then agreed to help for 2023 and 2024. The money received by the Golkar Party politician is thought to have reached Rp5 billion.
