Riding A Motorbike With Bobby Nasution In Medan, Ridwan Kamil Supports The Government To Give Electric Motorcycle Incentives
MEDAN - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil supports the government's program of providing incentives for battery-based electric motorized vehicles (KBLBB) or electric vehicles.
"I support the government's program to provide subsidies of Rp. 5 million to Rp. 7 million to buy electric motorbikes," said Ridwan, who is also chairman of the Association for Regional Oil and Gas Producers and Renewable Energy (Adpmet) in Medan, North Sumatra, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 1.
Kang Emil stated that he was the first in Indonesia to have an official car for the Governor of West Java using battery-based electricity.
He said that since being elected chairman of Adpmet for the 2020-2025 period, he has continued to campaign for new and renewable energy in every region and province.
Ridwan Kamil and the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution rode a GESIT brand electric motorcycle from the Medan City Hall to Jalan Pengadaian Medan.
"That's why I was right when I was with Bobby. We weren't traveling with gasoline motorbikes, but electric motorbikes. Moreover, brands made in Indonesia," he said.
The former mayor of Bandung, West Java, hopes that Medan City residents will soon switch to using electric vehicles, especially electric motorbikes.
"It has been calculated that it saves up to only paying 30 percent of the cost of using gasoline. So I support it, hopefully, it will be pollution-free, environmentally friendly and the city will progress," he said.
