Moeldoko: We Can Become A Supply Chain For Global Electric Vehicle Components
BEKASI - Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko believes that Indonesia has the potential to become a global supply chain for electric vehicle components. Such as batteries and dynamos for electric cars and motorcycles. He conveyed this after reviewing the production of enamel wires, at PT Supreme Cable Manufacturing & Commerce Tbk (PT SUCACO Tbk), in Bekasi, Monday, January 30.
This six-year plane is one of the raw materials for the electric car dynamo. And I see our local industry is ready to produce a large amount. This is our capital to be able to become a global supply chain for electric vehicle components," said Moeldoko.
Moeldoko admits that being part of the supplier of electric vehicle components is certainly not easy. In Asia, he said, Indonesia must compete with China, which has already started the development of electric vehicles.
For this reason, explained the 2013-2015 TNI Commander, the government is currently continuing to accelerate the development of an electric vehicle ecosystem so that it can immediately become a player in the electric vehicle industry in the global arena.
"The development of this electric vehicle ecosystem from upstream to downstream so that everything is integrated. Of course, the government will synergize with the private sector," explained Moeldoko.
As is known, Indonesia has expressed its readiness to enter the era of electric vehicles, as directed by President Joko Widodo as stated in Presidential Decree No. 55/2019 concerning the Acceleration of Development of Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicles.
In addition, President Jokowi has also issued Presidential Instruction No. 7/2022 concerning the use of Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicles as Operational and/or Individual Vehicles of the Central Government and Regional Government Agencies Service.
