Called Security Mitra Important Police, Kapolda Metro Jaya: Police Resources Very Limited
JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Muhammad Fadil Imran stated that the Security Unit (Satpam) is an important partner of the National Police.
He explained that maintaining security and public order (kamtibmas) cannot be done alone by the Police.
"The National Police's power source is very limited when compared to the challenges it faces," he said while leading the 42nd Anniversary Ceremony of the Satpam with the theme "Satpam and Polri Synergy, Cares for Others" in Jakarta, Monday, January 30, was confiscated by Antara.
For this reason, said the Kapolda, the potential of the community must be developed so as to be able to strengthen the security system through self-karsa security.
At the momentum of the 42nd Anniversary of the Satpam, he hopes that Satpam personnel can synergize with the Police in providing a sense of security, peace and comfort for the community to carry out their activities.
"Hopefully in the future the security guard can be more professional in carrying out the duties of the Police's functions and be more optimal in carrying out the maintenance of kamtibmas independently," said Fadil.
The security guard was formed in December 30, 1980 by the National Police Chief at that time, Police General Awaloedin Djamin. The presence of the security guard is based on Article 2 and Article 3 of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police.
