Ganjar Pranowo Rolls Out Poverty Handling Program Through Education
WONOGIRI - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo went directly to the field, leading activities to reduce extreme poverty. One of them was carried out in Wonogiri Regency at the Mlokomanis Village Hall, Ngadirojo District, Thursday 26 January.
At that location, Ganjar discussed the handling of extreme poverty for the Regencies of Wonogiri, Sragen, and Klaten. Poverty is a serious matter that must be addressed, including the importance of education.
Education
Head of the Central Java Education and Culture Service Uswatun Hasanah said the governor's scheme to accelerate the handling of extreme poverty, including through education.
"What we are currently doing is adding a new school unit (USB). Now there are Tawangmangu High School, Lumber Vocational School, and Pagentan Vocational High School in Central Java," said Uswatun at the event location.
Furthermore, said Uswatun, there are remote classes in Klaten, and virtual classes in Brebes, Purbalingga, and Boyolali. It is also possible that there will be additional virtual classes.
In the virtual class, there is quota support, and cell phone support, so that the children can work while working.
"Then we are also collaborating with the district/city Education Office, namely related to Package C, Package B, and so on. At the same time for children who have graduated from Vocational Schools, we are working with the Manpower and Transmigration Office to place them to work," she explained.
Thus, currently, there are 15 semi-boarding SMKs, 3 boarding SMKs, namely three Central Java SMKs in the cities of Semarang, Pati, and Purbalingga. In addition to the semi-boarding SMK, there will also be one more class at the school later.
"The scheme is, they are children who can't afford it, plus poor children who get scholarships from the Governor, namely at Taruna Nusantara High School, every year they are all funded, in total. Including semi-boarding SMK, boarding high school, high school/vocational school for free," she added.
She considered, education is one of the important things to deal with poverty. In this case, education will change the mindset. So, tackling poverty does not only delay early marriage which has an impact on the potentially less secure economy, but also on schools.

"At that school, there is entrepreneurship material in an integrated curriculum. Now if you want to try, you don't have to have a lot of capital, but also have the courage to speculate. In the online era, that's also good for entrepreneurship development. Both SMK and SMA. Tawangmangu High School in the future too so," she explained.
The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, assessed that currently, the handling of poverty continues to be carried out optimally, given the high poverty rate.
"In general, poverty (in Wonogiri, Sragen, Klaten) is still relatively high. Wonogiri is quite good," said Ganjar Pranowo at the location.
