The Honorary Board of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Batam City, Riau Islands has given strict sanctions to DPRD members who are involved in drug cases.Member of the Honorary Board of the Batam City DPRD, Harmidi Umar Husein, said that the firm action was given because the person concerned had tarnished the good name of the Batam City DPRD."Because this case has been handled by the authorities, it will be taken according to legal steps. This young NasDem politician occupies the seat of the Batam City DPRD from the Electoral Region (Dapil) Behindpadang.Previously, the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the National Democratic Party (NasDem) Amsakar Achmad regretted that his cadre who is also a member of the Batam City DPRD, Azhari David Yolanda, had stumbled upon a drug possession case.Amsakar said that his party would wait for the legal process that befell Azhari until it was completed, because the case had entered the realm of law, and was being processed for the case for his arrest due to illegal drugs."I just found out about his (Azhari) case. So we'll just have to wait for the ongoing legal process," said Amsakar.
