Barcelona Vs Real Sociedad 1-0, Blaugrana Asked To Learn From Misery
JAKARTA - Barcelona stepped into the semifinals of the Copa del Rey after overthrowing Real Sociedad. The Blaugrana qualified thanks to a narrow victory at the Nou Camp, Barcelona, Thursday, January 26, early morning WIB.
The single goal scored by Ousmane Dembele was enough for Barcelona even though they actually had the superior number of players since the 40th minute.
Sociedad player, Brais Mendez, was sent off by the referee for a violent challenge on Sergio Busquets.
Dembele was the winner for the Blaugrana after his hard kick was saved by Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro. This goal was created in the 52nd minute.
However, Barcelona had to experience tribulation first because it was difficult to take advantage of the dominance and advantage of number of players from their opponent.
"This match ended up being complicated for us, (Marc-Andre) Ter Stegen saved us," said Barcelona coach, Xavi, after the game.
"This is football and we have to learn, but we can't end up suffering like this."
Xavi added, his team must be more effective. Moreover, the Blaugrana appears dominant with the advantage of the number of players.
"We should be able to finish the game faster," he said.
