PPI Participates In A Trade Mission To Saudi Arabia With The Minister Of Trade
JAKARTA - PT Indonesian Trade Company (PPI) member of ID Food participated in a series of trade missions to Saudi Arabia with the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, on Monday 21 January in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The series began with a meeting with Saudi Arabian importers in order to listen to input and resolve barriers to imports of Indonesian products.
The Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized the need for intensive communication between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Saudi Arabia to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
In this series, PPI also conducted an MoU Ceremony with Said Bawazir Trading Company regarding cooperation in the trade of food ingredients for the international market (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), which was also witnessed by the Indonesian Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan and the Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz, which was held in Saudi Chambers of Commerce.
"I welcome the signing of trade contracts, cooperation agreements, and MoUs between Indonesian business actors and Saudi Arabia. It is hoped that this cooperation will continue with increasing trade transactions and with an increasing number of types of commodities," said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan.
PPI Director of Commercial & Development Andry Tanudjaja also said that PPI will continue to increase efforts to boost export performance.
"We really appreciate the commitment of the Minister of Trade to consistently improve Indonesia's trade and export sectors. PPI itself continues to increase efforts to boost Indonesia's export performance," said Andry, in a written statement, Tuesday, January 24.
"PPI as an export gateway for BUMN Food Holding will continue to introduce superior food products that have the potential to be export commodities and develop the downstream sector by expanding distribution to foreign countries," he continued.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have indeed agreed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and trade fields.
PPI will continue to support the government in increasing exports through international trade cooperation and is currently in the midst of consolidating entry into the SOE-aided MSME product export business ecosystem and building synergies and collaboration with other SOEs to bring MSME products to the global market.
This is in line with BUMN Minister Erick Thohir who continues to emphasize BUMN's alignment with MSME actors because MSME has become the backbone of the Indonesian economy which must be maintained. SOEs, as a third of Indonesia's economic power, have been committed to accompanying and encouraging MSME actors to continue to move up the ladder from the start.
