Hot News! Marcelino Ferdinand Heads To Europe
JAKARTA - Marselino Ferdinan's good appearance with Persebaya Surabaya and the Indonesian National Team has finally attracted the attention of European clubs. Reportedly, the 18-year-old player immediately flew to the Blue Continent.
Persebaya Surabaya manager Yahya Alkatiri said Marselino would leave for Belgium on January 25. However, he did not specify what agenda Marcelino would carry out there.
"For Marsel's problem, we will see his progress first. It is clear that this week, Insya Allah, January 25, he will go to Belgium," Yahya said in Surabaya, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 24.
As for the mechanism for Marselino going to Belgium, Yahya revealed, there have been talks with officials which will be announced soon.
"For certainty, there will be an announcement from Persebaya management," he added.
Persebaya coach, Aji Santoso also provides support for Marselino if he feels good about his career path going forward.
"For Marselino's departure, the management will announce, what is clear is that I am the coach, for example, if Marselino goes abroad to undergo a trial and qualify, I will be proud and I will support him," he said.
Of course, according to him, the coaching team would be willing to let Marcelino go because of his career development.
"Therefore, yesterday I said, if Marsel goes abroad and does not return to Indonesia, I will be sincere," said Aji.
According to him, at least he contributed to Marselino in career development while he was at Persebaya until he was called to be a player for the Indonesian national team.
Meanwhile, when asked by journalists after the match against Bhayangkara FC at the Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium, Gresik on Monday, January 23, Marcelino was reluctant to comment on his status going to Europe.
"Mr. Manager, to Mr. Manager," he said briefly.
