OC Kaligis Appointed As The Attorney For Defense Lukas Enembe

JAKARTA - Otto Cornelis or OC Kaligis has officially become the lawyer for the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. He was appointed directly by the family.

"The family appointed OC Kaligis as Pak Lukas' legal team," said one of Lukas' lawyers, Stefanus Roy Rening, to reporters, Friday, January 20.

At a glance about OC Kaligis, the lawyer was once found guilty of bribing three judges at the Medan Administrative Court. The amount of money given reached 27 thousand US dollars and 5,000 Singapore dollars.

As a result of his actions, OC was jailed for 7 years based on the decision of the Jakarta High Court. The verdict was heavier than the Jakarta Corruption Court, which was 5.5 years.

Returning to the Kaligis OC appointment, Rening said, the power of attorney was signed today, Friday, January 20. "It was signed by the governor's wife," he explained.

Apart from OC Kaligis, it is planned that there will also be human rights activists (HAM) who will join. However, Roy has not disclosed his name.

Later, the lawyer who used to be in the corruption case will also join the existing team.

"So Mr. OC and his team of lawyers have joined for a long time. Later there will also be activists who join human rights activists," said Rening.

As previously reported, Lukas Enembe was detained at the KPK Detention Center Pomdam Jaya Guntur branch for allegedly accepting bribes and gratuities related to a number of projects in Papua.

The receipt of money from allegedly came from the Director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijantono Lakka, so that the company would receive the project. The KPK said that this collusion was also carried out by Lukas and other Papuan provincial government officials.

As for the case, the KPK said there was an agreement to provide a fee of 14 percent of the contract value. Fee must be free from tax reduction.

At least, there are three projects that Rijantono got for this evil consensus. The first is the improvement of the Entro-Hamadi Road with a project value of Rp. 14.8 billion.

Rehabilitation of facilities and infrastructure supporting PAUD Integration with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion. Finally, the venue environmental planning project developed outdoor AURI with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.

After the project was won, Rijantono handed over Rp1 billion to Lukas. In addition, Lukas is also suspected of receiving gratuities of up to billions of rupiah.
