For The Second Time, IPB Appoints Arif Satria As Chancellor

BOGOR - IPB University re-appointed Arif Satria as chancellor for the second time. Arif will serve as rector for the period 2023 to 2028.

Previously, the Board of Trustees (MWA) of IPB University had appointed the Chancellor of IPB University for the 2023-2028 period in a Closed Plenary Session on November 9, 2011.

In that session, Arif was elected by acclamation and was asked to continue the term of office of Chancellor of IPB University for the 2018-2022 period.

Quoted by Antara, Wednesday 18 January, the inauguration was held at Graha Widya Wisuda, Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor and was attended by several ministers of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini and Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Apart from that, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, Suharti, were also present, as well as the Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo, and Deputy Speaker of the MPR, Ahmad Basarah.

Furthermore, from representatives of the IPB Board of Trustees, it appeared that the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of IPB Prof. Tridoyo Kusumastanto, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of IPB Dr. Agus Joko Pramono, and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of IPB Bambang Purwantara.

Secretary of IPB Board of Trustees Bambang Purwantara announced the decision to appoint Arif Satria as Chancellor of IPB at 9.30 WIB as stated in Decree No. 72/K/MWA IPB 2023 concerning the Appointment of IPB Rector 2023-2028.

The chairman of the IPB Board of Trustees, Prof. Tridoyo Kusumastanto, led the oath-taking, inauguration, and signing of the rector appointment documents.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IPB, Prof. Tridoyo Kusumastanto, congratulated the Chancellor of IPB, Arif Satria, and appreciated the achievements of the Agricultural Institute from year to year and period to period.

Tridoyo conveyed that going forward, the mandate from the IPB Board of Trustees deliberations was that the chancellor and his staff could encourage IPB to become a campus that produces technology, contributes to social life, and creates entrepreneurs.

"The results of our discussion together, in the future it is hoped that IPB will become a Socio Technopreneur campus," he explained.
