Sandiaga Uno Gencarkan Santri Digitalpreneur Proliferates Islamic Content Production

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahudin Uno said the digital preneur santri program was one of the steps to empower the people's economy because of the large number of students.

"Santri can become an information and literacy producer, a driver of content and quality products that have Islamic value," said Sandiaga Uno during the Gathering and Halaqoh Ulama, the caretaker of the Islamic Boarding School, in the 50th Golden Harlah of the United Development Party (PPP) at Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha, Jember Regency, East Java, Monday, January 16.

According to Sandiaga Uno, the creative economy sector both in Indonesia and in other countries will become the backbone of the economy in the future so that it will be stronger and taken into account as an inclusive economic force.

"The definition of the creative economy is the embodiment of added value from intellectual property sourced from human activities based on cultural heritage, science and technology," he said.

Therefore, Sandiaga Uno continued, the presence of the people's economic empowerment is very important, so that the digital preneur santri program can empower the people's economy.

"This year's digital preneur santri program has opened 1.1 million new jobs in 2022 and in 2024 it is targeted to create 4.4 million new jobs in the tourism sector and the creative economy," said Sandiaga Uno.

Sandiaga Uno then gave a message, so that all parties continue to improve the creative economy in Jember because basically Jember Regency has good potential in terms of a well-known cultural organization, namely Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC), music, dance, religious tourism, and tourism.

"Let's synergize with the one-product Islamic boarding school program. Support the digital preneur santri program and can be developed into a pilot project, so that Jember is increasingly at the forefront of food and energy independence," he said.

Furthermore, he explained that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages the creation of young entrepreneurs as the backbone of the economy with a target of achieving 4.4 million jobs in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Jember Hendy Siswanto said that Jember Regency has 650 Islamic boarding schools that have around 500 students, but if the pesantren is below 500 students, of course it will reach thousands.

"We also provide guidance to MSMEs in Islamic boarding schools, so 41 cooperatives in Islamic boarding schools are required to enter the electronic catalog of Jember MSMEs," he said.
