COVID-19 Update As of January 12: New Cases 412, Active Cases Drop to 7,542

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 32,705 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 412 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 6,725,095 people and active cases fell by 263 to 7,542 cases", it was quoted as saying from data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Thursday, January 12.

Today's recovered cases increased by 669 people, bringing a total of 6,556,842 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 6 cases and a total of 160,711 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 159 cases and a total of 1,537,889 cases. Followed by West Java which has 84 new cases with a total of 1,233,739 cases. Banten has 33 new cases and a total of 365,493 cases. Central Java has 29 new cases and a total of 655,604 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 236 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 129 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 124 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 64 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 114,314,307.

"The positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 1.91 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases is recorded at 1,766 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, 204,106,901 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,897,009 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 68,891,092 and the fourth dose was 1,205,041. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
