Not Many Fans Anticipated! The iPhone SE 4 Reportedly Canceled by Apple

JAKARTA - iPhone SE fans probably won't see the fourth generation of cellphones next year. Apple will reportedly cancel its launch.

iPhone SE is the cheapest line of cellphones from Apple. However, according to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, citing sources in the supply chain, the cellphone is currently lacking interest.

As a result, the company had to cancel its production of the iPhone SE 4. Kuo believes this is because the previous generation iPhone SE 3 also experienced a decline in market demand, far from Apple's expectations.

Likewise with other special models such as the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 14 Plus, which were also not very popular, leading Apple to cancel the next iPhone SE model.

Furthermore, Kuo also predicts that the Cupertino giant is worried about the transition from the iPhone SE 3, which still has the same full-screen design, has large top and bottom bezels, and the design of the iPhone 6 home button. SE 4.

Bloomberg reports that there is more demand for the iPhone 14 Pro than for the regular iPhone 14. In addition, usually, price-conscious buyers prefer the high-end iPhone lineup over the iPhone SE.

One company that might not be saddened by the potential cancellation of the iPhone SE 4 is Qualcomm, which makes 5G modems for the current iPhones.

Apple is reportedly already working on its own version of the chip and, according to Kuo, plans to test it in the next iPhone SE before bringing it to its flagship phones.

He reports that Apple's modems may not necessarily perform as well as Qualcomm's, so it's possible that the iPhone 16 will still use Qualcomm's modem. It is also predicted that Qualcomm will happen, and will not lose Apple as a main source of revenue until 2025.

Finally, while Kuo is generally reliable, no rumor source is perfect other than Apple itself to confirm. This was quoted from The Verge, Saturday, January 7.
